We hope you enjoy your visit to our site. If you have any comments, please sign our guestbook. ( Ladies, it's taken me four solid days and a lot of stress to sort out this new site! hope you find it as easy to use as the last one!)

This site is dedicated to my students, my Troupe and all of you ladies out there who may need some "me" time, who are maybe thinking about starting something new.......

Suhayla

First the boring factual bit.... How did I get into Belly dance?

Having trained for 15 years in Ballet and modern dance, and then going on to have four children and my 40th Birthday, I decided I needed to do something for me! And as I thought I was probably too old and out of shape to get back into a tu-tu, belly dance called. One lesson and I was hooked !!! It has now taken over my life, and the joy it brings, not only in performing, but in teaching wonderful women, who start so slowly and then emerge into confident performers, cannot be measured !

Suhayla has been running classes in Dorset for 2 years now, and the classes are incredibly popular !

So many women are under the impression that belly dance is only for thin young girls, but we're here to dispel that myth ! REAL WOMEN BELLY DANCE!

No matter what age, or indeed waistline you are, belly dance could be for you. The beginners class is safe, effective exercise, and most of all, is so relaxed it's actually enjoyable!

Many ladies who start classes with us are shy at first, and worry about what to wear. Of course, as girls, we all love dressing up! But for classes we generally advise loose comfortable clothing (T-shirt and leggings) bare feet, or flat comfortable shoes, trainers are a bit clumpy to come up on your toes! Most ladies start wearing this and then find the urge to scour charity shops and markets for all things glittery! Be warned ladies, after the 1st lesson you will probably become obsessed, and find your wardrobe becomes full of clothes you can't wear during the day !!!

We have all ages at our classes from young teenagers to Great- Grandmothers, so why not give it a try?
The more advanced members of class are part of the "Danse Du Ventre" Troupe and have performed at several charity events. We have had tremendous response to this.

Basically, if you feel the urge to learn a new dance skill, and be part of a fantastic social evening, feel free to contact us about a class near you.

Performing at Charlton Down Fun Day
This was one of the first performances we ever did! The sun was shining and everyone really enjoyed themselves.

The cream teas afterwards were even better!
